The Federal Government and the government of Benue State have collaborated to establish 500 units of two and three-bedroom apartments in the state.
This development was disclosed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Ngunan Addingi, in Makurdi, the state capital.
Addingi had reinstated the commitment of the state governor, Samuel Ortom, to housing in the state to mitigate the problem of housing faced by residents of the Benue State.
Addingi also added that the federal government would be working on the project with the Benue State government and Family Home Funds Limited.
She said, “The federal government had asked that 500 units of houses be built in the state. The houses would be two and three bedrooms and it would be carried out in collaboration with the state governments and Family Home Funds Limited.
“Benue State government has agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, be entered into and the terms and conditions be specified so that the houses can be built in the state.”
She also stated that some other projects were embarked on like the installation of traffic lights at six locations in the state capital.
