…As FC Barcelona-Affiliated Academy Seek to Maintain Winning Momentum in N-Youth League
Bayelsa Starlets Academy will be aiming to secure their second consecutive victory in the ongoing N-Youth League when they host Mariners City FC of Eket, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
The encounter, scheduled for 12 noon at the Onopa Golf Pitch in Yenagoa, presents another opportunity for the Yenagoa-based academy to consolidate its position in the competition and continue its pursuit of excellence in youth football.
The Starlets, who are affiliated with Spanish football giants FC Barcelona, head into the fixture with renewed confidence following an impressive victory over FC Prague Nigeria in their previous outing.
Under the guidance of Coach Edema Fuludu and his technical crew, the academy will be determined to build on that result by delivering another disciplined and coordinated performance against their visitors from Eket.
The young Bayelsa side will be looking to combine tactical organisation, creativity in midfield and clinical finishing in the attacking third to secure maximum points and maintain their winning momentum.
However, Mariners City FC are expected to provide a stern test, with the visitors equally determined to challenge the hosts and improve their standing in the competition. This sets the stage for an intriguing contest between two ambitious youth sides.
For Bayelsa Starlets, maintaining concentration, controlling the tempo of the game and making the most of scoring opportunities could prove crucial to their chances of securing another victory.
Beyond the quest for three points, the fixture offers the academy’s young talents another valuable opportunity to gain competitive experience and demonstrate their development under the FC Barcelona-affiliated programme.
With Coach Fuludu and his technical crew leaving nothing to chance in their preparations, the Starlets will be hoping to translate their hard work into another positive result and strengthen their early-season campaign.
A victory on Tuesday would further boost the team’s confidence and reinforce its determination to remain competitive in the N-Youth League.
All eyes will therefore be on the Onopa Golf Pitch as Bayelsa Starlets Academy welcomes Mariners City FC in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
