The leadership of APC Professionals Council has congratulated the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his re-election for another term in office for four years.
Sanwo-Olu emerged the winner of the Saturday’s governorship election in the state after polling 762,134 votes to beat his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who polled 312, 327 votes. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran popularly called Jandor came a distant third with 62, 449 votes.
The council in a congratulatory message to the governor on Monday, signed by the Director General, Amb. Seyi Bamigbade said the re-election is a reaffirmation of confidence on people of Lagos in Sanwo-Olu’s administration in the state since 2019.
He said the plethora of milestones he has recorded as the helmsman in the state has endeared the people to opt for continuity with a larger hope of more meaningful development across all sectors of the economy in the state.
He said, “Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s re-election no doubt is a reaffirmation that he enjoys a deep-rooted confidence of the people whom he has served in the past four years as their governor.
“He is a clear testimony to the fact that APC wields the best species of governors who have gone ahead to demonstrate capacity, character and competence in their various states.
“It is our hope that His Excellency, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will record more beautiful milestones in infrastructural transformation, education, economic, sports, housing and transportation system revitalization”, Bamigbade said.
