Abia Reps 2023: I’m In The Race To End Years Of Visionless Representation In Isialangwa — Hon. Nwaokike

The candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP for Isialangwa North/South Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Nkwachukwukwere Stanley Nwaokike has said he is in the race to represent the people at the federal House of Representatives in 2023 to end years of poor representation which the people have suffered.

He said the people of the Constituency is blessed with men and women with intellectual sagacity and administrative dexterity willing to bring a positive change to the people next year and beyond, insisting that time has come to end poor representation in the Constituency.

In an interview with newsmen in Nbawsi, Isialangwa North on Wednesday, the businessman expressed dissatisfaction that the federal constituency is one of the most under-developed not only in Abia but South East in general.

“If you look around, you will agree with me that there is a glaring lack of development in this great constituency as clearly seen in the lack of infrastructure, poor road network, lack of engagement of our young ones, poor commercial activities, dysfunctional health care centres and collapsing educational centres.

“If our people had been able to enjoy a shadow of effective representation over the years, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

“It is greed, corruption and selfishness of those who have in the past represented their pocket and personal interest that kept us where we are and I am glad that the people have demonstrated an overwhelming excitement with our open representation solution. No more reinforcing the non-performing political parties. I have a covenant with the people and I am committed to bringing it to a reality with their collective suppor” he said.

He said the people of the Isialangwa North/South Constituency need someone with character, competence and good antecedents, assuring that if elected into the Green Chamber next year, he would do things differently for the overall benefit of the people.

According to Hon. Nwaokike, he will revive some comatose health centres that are not working, and pay attention to agriculture.

He said agriculture will be a focal point of his representation especially with the uncertainty that has brewed the oil industry. He expressed regret that agriculture which he said has capacity to generate lots of job opportunities and export values have not been fully harnessed, adding that a cassava processing plant in the federal constituency will be a good revenue source.

He promised to do things differently, promising not to disappoint the people.

Hon. Nwaokike, a philanthropist is popular in the two local governments that make up the constituency with a large number of pupils benefiting from his scholarship and distribution of educational materials, empowerment of youths and distribution of stipends to support small scale farmers.
