The Hon. President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD has commiserated with the Hon. President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Monica Dongban Mensem over the sudden death of the Presiding Judge, Kano division of the court of Appeal, Justice Hussain Mukhtar.
Late Justice Mukhtar died today Saturday 18th September 2021 at the age of 67 years.
While commiserating, Justice Kanyip expressed that Judiciary in its entirety has lost an icon and a formidable jurist per excellence; that the late Justice Hussain Mukhtar indelible contributions to the growth of Judiciary and promotion of the rule of Law in Nigeria would forever remain evergreen.
From the record, the late Justice Hussain Mukhtar started his working career at Bauchi State Judiciary in 1976 and was one-time magistrate, Secretary Bauchi State Judicial Service Commission.
He was the Chief Registrar of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory from 1992 to 1996. He served as a judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, from 1996 to 2006. Thereafter, he was appointed as the presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division where he served until his demise.
Justice Kanyip prayed to God to grant the repose of the deceased eternal rest and grant the family he left behind the grace and fortitude to accommodate the irreparable loss
