2027: Nigeria’s Future Brighter Under Tinubu, Says Dr. Seyi Bamigbade

As political conversations around the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum, the Director General of the Tinubu–Ambo Support Group, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, has expressed strong optimism about Nigeria’s future under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the current administration as laying a solid foundation for sustainable national growth.

In a New Year message released on Wednesday, Dr. Bamigbade said Nigeria is better positioned for economic recovery, institutional reforms, and long-term stability under President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that the bold decisions taken so far reflect the kind of leadership required to reposition the country.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon courage and strategic clarity in confronting Nigeria’s long-standing structural challenges,” Bamigbade said. “From economic reforms to efforts at strengthening national institutions, the direction of governance is clear. Nigeria’s future is indeed greater under Tinubu, and continuity beyond 2027 will allow these reforms to fully mature and deliver lasting benefits to the people.”

He urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive, stressing that transformational leadership often requires difficult but necessary choices in the short term to secure prosperity in the long run.

Beyond the presidency, Dr. Bamigbade also called for broad-based support for the return of former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, describing him as a tested administrator whose first term left measurable impacts on the state’s development.

According to him, Ambode’s tenure was marked by massive investments in infrastructure, including the construction and rehabilitation of major road networks, improved traffic management, and the “Light Up Lagos” initiative which enhanced security and boosted nighttime economic activities.

He also cited reforms in public education, healthcare delivery, environmental management, and civil service efficiency as key achievements that distinguished Ambode’s administration.

“Lagos witnessed purposeful governance under Akinwunmi Ambode,” Bamigbade said. “His emphasis on infrastructure, security, education, and institutional reforms laid a strong foundation that speaks for itself. Bringing him back would mean restoring a governance style focused on competence, planning, and service delivery.”

Dr. Bamigbade concluded by calling on party stakeholders, youths, professionals, and civil society actors to rally behind President Tinubu and Ambode, arguing that experienced leadership remains critical to navigating Nigeria’s complex socio-economic realities.

He added that 2027 presents an opportunity for Nigerians to consolidate reforms at both federal and state levels, in the interest of national development and generational progress.
