Lagos Speaker, Obasa Receives APC Committee On Re-Election Of Gov. Sanwo-Olu

Ahead of the March 18 governorship and state assembly elections, a special national intervention committee of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) on the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos State on Thursday met with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

The committee headed by the Minister of Science and Technology, Sen. Olorunnimbe Mamora was at the Speaker’s Lodge, Ikeja GRA, Lagos state, in furtherance of its intervention meetings with critical stakeholders in readiness for the polls, a release signed by the Committee Chairman on Media and Publicity, Amb. Seyi Bamigbade said.

Receiving the committee members, the Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa thanked them for the job they have carried out so far in an effort to ensure that the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is elected next week, the statement added.

He said the consultative meetings with the party leaders, support groups, traders, youth and women organizations since the committee was inaugurated has further rekindled to love of the people for the party and its governoship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who has redefined governance in the past four years.

He expressed confidence that with with sterling performance of Sanwo-Olu across all sectors in the state economy, the people will opt for continuity rather than entrusting their future on uncertainty, appealing to all Lagosians to re-elect Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat as well as all APC House of Assembly candidates on March 18.

Earlier in his remarks, Sen. Mamora said the committee had come to solicit for the Speaker’s support in carrying out its functions of galvanizing support for the party.

According to him, Lagos is important to the economy of Nigeria and must not be left in the hands of inexperienced persons, adding that the re-election of Sanwo-Olu will keep the state on a progressive track.

In their contributions, Hon. Alawiye King,
Rtd. Gen. Adeosun, Hon. Bawa Allah, Idirs Aregbe and Hon. Lola Akande, the chairman of Committee on welfare reiterated the readiness of the committee to engage and mobilize Lagosians for the success of the second term bid of Gov. Sanwo-Olu.
