Adamawa CP Orders Confiscation Of SPY Number Plates

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Kayode Akande, has ordered motorists to return SPY number plates or have them confiscated by the police.
A statement issued by the police spokesman in the state, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, said the commissioner had directed divisional officers and area commanders to enforce the order with immediate effect.
The statement reads in part, “Following the directives of the IGP Usman Alkali Baba, Psc(+), NPM, fdc, on the total ban on the use of spy number plates by vehicle owners across the state without exceptions of either authorized or not.
“The Adamawa State Police Command wish to advise members of the public, particularly vehicle owners using spy number plates either approved or otherwise to respectfully return such (number plates) to police headquarters, Yola; Office of the PPRO from today 14/7/2022.”
The statement further added that a task force comprising all security agencies has been set up to enforce the ban across the state.
