EPL: Chelsea Thrash Burnley 3-0 At Turf Moor

Chelsea thrashed Burnley 3-0 at the Turf Moor as Hakim Ziyech, Kurt Zouma, and Timo Werner got on the scoring board to give Frank Lampard another huge boost in the title race.

Equity News understands that Chelsea now moves to 4th position on the table with 1 point behind league leaders Liverpool and Everton.

Chelsea was by far the better side as the Clarets have always had issues about going forward this season – with no shot on target throughout the match.

Hakim Ziyech opened the scoring after Timo played in to find Abraham, he dropped a close pass for Ziyech in the box and with his left foot drilled a low ball through Taylor’s legs past Nick Pope in the post.

The second half was a resumption of hostilities as Kurt Zouma’s head met Mason Mount corner kick, and he buried it into the top corner past the keeper and the two defenders at the post.

Zouma has now scored two goals for the EPL season one against Brighton & Hove Albion and the goal against Burnley on Saturday.

Before Ziyech was subbed off for Hodson Odoi, he provided a glimpse of how fine he can combine with a striker as he dropped a low pass to find Timo on the left side in a counter-attack, the German player buried the well-placed shot past Pope into the net.

With the loss, Burnley now sits at the bottom of the table with 1 point from 6 games.

Chelsea travels to France to face Rennes in the next CL game while, before facing Sheffield United and Burnley travels to Brighton to face the Falmer Stadium outfit.
