JUDGMENT: Court Sets Aside Judgment on Restraining State Government from Sacking ALGON Chairmen

The Court of Appeal has set aside the judgment of Oyo State High Court which restrained the state government from sacking the All Progressives Congress, APC, Association of Local Government of NigeriaALGON, chairmen.

The Court based its judgment on the fact that the High Court judgment was based on speculation which could not be taken for the cause of action.

The judgment read by Justice Haruna Tsammani said the case was premature with no facts to establish the intention of the state government.

Counsel to ALGON, Niyi Akintola SAN, also said his client will determine whether the matter will go to the Supreme Court or not.

Recall that the sacked Council Chairmen under the aegis of the ALGON dragged the Seyi Makinde-led administration to court and sought to take control of the council secretariats by relying on a letter written by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and another by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
