The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 6,354 deals on Friday, November 6, 2020, higher than the 4,319 deals it closed with on Thursday, November 5, 2020. The volume reached 637,49 million units at the close of the market on Friday, higher than the 430,12 million units it closed with on Thursday.
The value of trades recorded on Friday was NGN5,229 billion, lower than the NGN6,619 billion of Thursday. Meanwhile, on Friday, the All-Share Index reached 31,016.17 index points, lower than the 30,738.92 All-Share Index of Thursday.
The stock market also ended with a NGN16,206 trillion equity capitalisation on Friday, lower than the NGN16,062 trillion recorded on Thursday.
Top Five Gainers
Dangote Cement led the top gainers’ chart after its stock price gained NGN5.5 kobo to close trading at NGN174.5 kobo per share after opening today’s trading with NGN169 per share, according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by Equity News.
GTBank was second on the table, as its stock price gained NGN1.2 kobo to close the market with NGN33.5 kobo per share, having started trading today with NGN32.3 kobo per share.
Presco was the third top gainer as its stock price closed the market with a NGN1.1 kobo gain to move from the opening price of NGN16.55 kobo per share to NGN67 kobo per share.
Guinness follows, closing the market with a gain of NGN0.95 kobo to end trading with NGN17.5 kobo per share from the opening share price of NGN16.55 kobo per share.
Dangote Sugar was last on the top five gainers’ table after its share price gained NGN0.95 kobo to close trading at NGN16.5 kobo per share, having opened trading at NGN15.55 kobo per share.
Top Five Losers
On the top of the losers’ list is BUA Cement, which had begun trading earlier today at NGN45.45 kobo per share, only to drop in price by NGN-2.45 kobo to close at NGN43 per share at the end of trading today.
Flour Mill was second on the chart after closing at NGN27.2 kobo per share from its opening trade price of NGN27.6 kobo per share; this represents a drop of NGN-0.4 kobo.
Mansard share price fell by NGN-0.2 kobo as its share price closed trading at NGN2 per share, lower than the NGN2.2 kobo per share it opened with.
NEM also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.18 kobo to close trading at NGN2.05 per share, below the NGN2.23 kobo per share it opened with.
Oando completed the top five losers chart after it closed trading with NGN2.7 kobo per share, declining by -2.17% from the NGN2.76 kobo per share it opened trading with.
Top Five Trades
Equity News learnt that the top trades in the stock market for today were Omoluabi Mortagage Bank, which traded a volume of over 139.50 million units worth NGN83.70 million. First Bank was the second most traded stock today with over 91.36 million units worth over NGN594.94 million. Sterling Bank was next on the list, trading 51.50 million units worth NGN93.69 million.
Access Bank was the fourth on the most traded stock list, closing the market with over 44.54 million units traded at a cost of over NGN382.07 million, while UBA completed the top five list with over 44.54 million units traded today, worth NGN256.44 million.
