Detailed in the 2021 budget proposal is a bill of N4.85 billion allocated to the maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations at the Villa.
This expenditure was contained in the bill presented to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari last week Thursday.
The budget reads partly, “ERGP 7102245 annual routine maintenance of mechanical/electrical installations of the Villa ongoing N4,854,381,299.
“23030101 rehabilitation/repairs of residential buildings N153,693,262
23030121 rehabilitation/repairs of office buildings N5,244,027,241.”
Breaking it down further, generators’ repair at the Villa will gulp a total of N5.2 million, while the fueling of the generators will take N4.5 million.
Villa’s electricity bill is set to take N274 million, while the cost of internet connection is N67.1 million.
Last week, Buhari had said that a recession was looming in the country and that the country was failing to effectively generate revenue.
