APC Professionals Council has congratulated the governor-elect of Kano State, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna on his victory at the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja.
Appeal Court in its judgement on Friday agreed with the ruling of the tribunal, saying that the fielding of Abba Yusuf was in breach of the Electoral Law as he was not qualified to contest that Election.
In a congratulatory message on Friday, the Deputy Director General of APC Professionals Council, Hon. Abba Rabee’u hailed the judgement of the tribunal and the appellate court, saying the will of Kano people has finally prevailed.
He said, “The victory of His Excellency, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna at the tribunal upheld at the Appeal Court is indication that truth cannot be hidden forever. It is a clear manifestation that the will of Kano people has prevailed”, he noted.
Earlier, the National Director General of APC Professionals Council, Amb. Seyi Bamigbade congratulated Gawuna for his victory.
He expressed confidence that it will be the beginning of a new dawn for the people of Kano State.
According to him, Gawuna is an outstanding grassroot mobiliser who is in touch with the people, who understands their needs and willing to make a positive change upon assumption of office.
The tribunal deducted 165,663 votes from Yusuf’s total as invalid votes, stating that the affected ballot papers were not stamped or signed and therefore declared invalid, making Gawuna winner of election.
