The Senior Special Assistant to Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Land Use and Development, Hon. Richard Otitoleke has urged former Senator, Smart Adeyemi to lead Kogi West in the campaign for the election of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo in the November 11 governorship election.
The governor’s aide made the call on Tuesday in response to the ruling of the Supreme Court affirming Ododo as the duly elected candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the poll.
The apex court had dismissed Sen. Adeyemi’s suit seeking the nullification of Ododo’s candidacy.
Hon. Otitoleke said Sen. Adeyemi remains a respected figure in the party, urging him to sheath his sword and support Ododo.
While congratulating Alh. Ododo, Hon. Otitoleke said the victory is a clear indication that APC governorship candidate has been ordained to continue with the visionary leadership which he said Gov. Yahaya Bello has entrenched in the state.
He therefore urged all other aggrieved members of the party to join hands in ensuring victory for APC in the election next month.
According Hon. Otitoleke, Kogi State needs to continue in the trajectory of aggressive continuous development, saying Ododo represents that candidate that will further reposition Kogi on the pedestal of human and infrastructural development.
