The National Special Intervention Committee of the governing All Progressives Congress APC in Lagos has congratulated the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his victory at the March 18 governorship election in the state.
Sanwo-Olu secured his re-election after polling 762,134 votes to beat his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who polled 312, 327 votes. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran popularly called Jandor came a distant third with 62, 449 votes.
In a congratulatory message on Monday by the committee director, media and publicity, Amb. Seyi Bamigbade, he quoted the convener, Ademola Adetokunbo Ade-John as saying that the re-election of Sanwo-Olu is a clear testimony to his popularity among the people of Lagos especially with the track record of excellence he has set in the past four years.
Adetokunbo Ade-John said Lagosians have made a decisive decision by choosing the path of continuity which has witnessed massive transformation in infrastructure, social amenities and economic revitalisation.
“The re-election of His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu is no doubt a clear testimony to his undeniable popularity which has seen him pilot the state on the path of greatness in all areas of economy — transportation, sports, entertainment, education and urban renewal.
“The continuity agenda shall once again avail Lagos the opportunity of setting the pace in development as the nation’s commercial capital and the country’s gateway.
“We congratulate Gov. Sanwo-Olu and the people of Lagos for consolidating on the solid foundation laid by past administration which the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the pillar”, the congratulatory message read.
