The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched regulations and guidelines for the conduct of the 2023 Â general elections in Nigeria.
Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced this on Friday during a meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Prof. Yakubu said the Commission has almost concluded plans for the 2023 General Elections with the release of its regulations and guidelines as well as earlier publication of the Strategic Plan (SP) 2022-2026 and Election Project Plan for 2023.
While noting that the training manual will soon be made available, he listed areas to be considered to include, logistics, training, voter education, technology, sensitisation against vote-buying, inclusivity measures and security, among others.
