A popular support group of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC Professionals Council has called on all members of the party to desist from name-calling and haul of abusive language as the 2023 general elections approach.
This comes as the group says the era of personal attacks in politics is far gone, calling on aspirants to educate their supporters on the need to play issue-based politics rather than insults.
The Director General of APC Professionals Council, Hon. Seyi Bamigbade gave this advise when receiving decamped members of the PDP in Zamfara State on Monday.
He said attacking each other in the same political family sends a wrong signal to the opposition, stating that it breeds enmity which may affect the party in the upcoming elections.
He warned that those who seek to display their royalty to their principals by attacking the personality of fellow contestants are not doing their principals any good, urging that they should desist from such.
Hon. Bamigbade appealed that decorum, decency, civility and respect for one another should be the pillar of campaign as the primary election of the party draws nearer, saying it is only way to remain united even after the 2023 general elections.
