ASABA – The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba Usman, has charged the Delta State Police Command to brace up for the challenges posed by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the state.
Speaking to officers of the state Police Command in Asaba as part of his visit to the state on Monday, Usman said there was the need to get prepared and deal with any crime or criminality, as well as ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
While reacting to some of the challenges facing the command ranging from IPOB activities and herdsmen attacks as raised earlier by the state Commissioner of Police, Ali Ari, Usman noted that the proximity of Anambra to Asaba makes it susceptible to aggressions from the eastern part of the country.
However, the police chief did not respond to the challenge of incessant farmers/herders clashes in the state.
