Acquire Requisite Skill Set to keep Gender Barrier fallen’- Tax Tribunal Coordinating Secretary, Anita Erinne Charges Women in Taxation

The Coordinating Secretary of the Tax Appeal Tribunal, Mrs Anita Erinne has urged the Women in Taxation to get the requisite skill set to keep the gender barrier falling for the greater development of society.

 

The Coordinating Secretary stated this at the 2024 Maiden Tax Summit organized by the Society of Women in Taxation on ‘The Nigerian Economy: Achieving Sustainable Development through a Gender-Inclusive Tax System’ held at the Nigerian Society of Engineers Conference Hall, Central Business District Abuja.

 

The Tax Summit is an annual event, leverages on expert insights, case studies, and best practices to foster a comprehensive understanding of gender-responsive taxation.

 

In her opening remark, the National Chairperson for the Society of Women in Taxation, Mrs Bosede Ikhanoba expressed that the concept of gender-responsive taxation aims to design and implement tax policies that consider and address gender disparities, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society.

 

The Tax Summit is Society for Women in Taxation contribution to the process to activate the agency of persons who feel the impact of unfair taxation by strengthening their knowledge, capacity and consciousness and supporting them to advocate for a shift in tax policy through the use of evidence and working within a collective group of women.

 

The primary objective of the Tax Summit on Advocacy for Gender-Responsive Taxation is to bring together policymakers, tax experts, gender advocates, women in business/Entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to discuss, strategize, and promote the integration of gender considerations in tax policies.
