The National Chairman, Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) who also doubles as the Executive Vice Chairman, Ikorodu LGA, Lagos State, Aarebirin Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba has called on INEC and the Security agencies to be more transparent in the Osun guber election slated for Saturday, July 16, 2022.
While applauding the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the successful conduct of the last Ekiti guber election, Princess Olabanji-Oba urged the electoral empire to sustain the feat as the only panacea for the peaceful conduct of the credible, fair, and free election is to improve on the electorates’ participation.
Her Excellency Aarebirin Olabanji-Oba charged INEC and other stakeholders to maintain a high level of transparency by ensuring timely deployment of election material and noted that no one should be disenfranchised on the basis of religion and disability.
In the same vein, while urging the electorates to be peaceful and not to see the election as do or die, the chairman implored the Security agencies to rise up to their responsibility by protecting lives and property.
The National Chairman also used the avenue to express confidence in the impartiality of the INEC and extended big kudos to the security agencies for upholding the virtues of professionalism, prayed that the history would be kind to them for their sacrifices.
