Again, ANAN FCT 1 Chairman Bags Outstanding Leadership Award

Barely two days after his recognition as ‘Icon Of Societal Transformation’ by Arewa Female Students Association, AFSA, the Chairman Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, ANAN FCT 1, Mr. Wahab Shina Omoniyi has again been honoured with Change and Good Leadership award by Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria, IMPAN.

The association says the honour is in recognition of his immense contributions in improving prudence in public financial management as well as the transparency and accountability he has exhibited in leading the FCT 1 Chapter of ANAN.

Presenting the certificate of recognition to him in Abuja on Wednesday, the National President, Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria, IMPAN, Prince Jude Ubaka extolled Mr. Omoniyi for providing a visible roadmap for the chapter in the past one year he has been in office.

Ubaka who led other executive members of IMPAN said through a defined vision and prudence in management, Mr. Omoniyi has been able to navigate through the COVID-induced difficulties which has held other groups and associations to ransom.

“Sir, our findings reveal that you are one of the foremost distinguished leaders in the accounting profession who has charted a new course that will add value to humanity, the accounting profession and nation at large. Your dexterous managerial skills has seen your branch emerge a trail blazer, surmounting plethora of obstacles, including the COVID-infested economy downturn.

“As an Association we are proud of your professional acumen especially through the concern you have shown and contributions you have made in ensuring that we as a nation get it right in leadership.

“At the recently held 2021 International Accountants Day, you harped on the need for the country to get it right in all strata of the society in leadership. This may have informed your choice of advancing the scope of mentorship of ANAN FCT 1 by inviting secondary schools and undergraduates from higher institutions to participate in the event where stakeholders analysed and proffered solutions to various forms of leadership challenges halting our growth.

“It is also worthy of note that when you came on board, you took the issue of capacity building of members with utmost seriousness in order to ensure they are kept abreast trending innovations in the profession as well as preparing them to add value to their employers. This you have achieved by creating a platform for regular training and retraining, workshops and seminars in evolving accounting technicalities” he said.

The association says as a media organisation, it is proud to associate with the success story which Mr. Omoniyi has brought about at the FCT 1 Chapter of the foremost accounting body, pledging a continuous support.

In his comment, the award recipient, Mr. Omoniyi expressed gratitude to the leadership of Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria, IMPAN for finding him worthy of this award.

Omoniyi said the award is an indication that the little the leadership of ANAN FCT 1 is doing for the enhancement of the society is being appreciated, assuring that the branch under his leadership will leave a legacy for which it will be remembered.

He dedicated the award to the entire membership of the branch for their support and dedication.
