Bashir Magashi, the minister of Defence has revealed that Nigeria will explore partnering with the United States to tackle insurgency in the country.
The Defence Minister who spoke shortly after defending his ministry’s budget at the Senate on Tuesday said that the recent rescue mission by the US seal did not breach the country’s sovereignty.
According to him, the Nigerian government was aware of the operations and granted the US Seal the necessary permission to carry out its operations.
He said that Nigeria permitted the US to carry out its operations almost immediately it was contacted by the US.
Magashi further revealed that the country is doing its best with limited resources to deploy technology in its operations.
