The Secretary to the Osun State Government, Bobagunwa Teslim Igbalaye, has congratulated His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and the entire people of Osun State following the landmark judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal, Akure Division, on Friday, June 13, 2025.
The appellate court dismissed an application by the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking to relist a previously struck-out case challenging the removal of local government chairmen.
This ruling vindicates the position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and upholds the integrity of the local government elections conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) on February 22, 2025.
The decision stands as a resounding affirmation of democracy, the rule of law, and the will of the people of Osun State. This shows Governor Adeleke’s resounding commitment to justice, transparency, and due process in governance.
“This victory is a triumph for democracy, the rule of law, and the will of the people of Osun State”, he stated.
The judgment further validates the legality of the state government’s actions to ensure that local government administration adheres to principles of fairness and complies fully with the Electoral Act.
