The ruling part in Nigeria, APC through its support group, the APC Empowerment Initiative (AEI) has commenced tuition free scholarships and agriculture empowerment crusade in the South West as part of efforts to fulfill the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu in the region.
The flag off ceremony took place at Alimosho local government headquarters in Lagos on Monday amidst high attendance of senior members of the governing All Progressive Congress.
The empowerment campaign was designed for Education Support to less privileged into high institutions, while the agriculture support is for small-scale farmers where high yield seedlings were distributed to them to assist in the federal government’s campaign to invest in food security.
The organic high yield seedlings distributed include palm-tree, cassava, yam, pepper, orange, coconut, and several other cash crops.
Addressing participants, the Director General of APC Empowerment Initiative (AEI), Hon. Seyi Bamigbade said the tuition free scholarship was designed to Support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Educational reform agenda, while the distribution of seedlings aimed at ensuring that small-scale farmers have a high yield in order to raise their income as well as have enough supply for the market in line with renewed hope Agenda.
According to him, the campaign will add value to the efforts being made to boost food security and end hunger in the country.
He called on the beneficiaries to avoid the temptation of selling the items and instead use it to boost their economic welfare.
Also speaking, a chieftain of APC in Alimosho, Dr. Ayisat Gbajabiamila applauded the group for deepening the benefits of Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
