No fewer than 5,000 Nigerian youths studying in various academic institutions will benefit from the free tuition scheme of All Progressive Congress Presidential Campaign Council PCC Grassroots Engagement and Orientation South West in partnership with APC Professionals Council.
The tuition free scheme will be flagged off on Monday in Osogbo by a former Deputy Governor of Osun state and Director Southwest Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council PCC Grassroot Mobilization, Engagement and Orientation South West Directorate, Her Excellency Titilayo Laoye-Tomori.
Announcing this on Friday, the Director General of APC Professionals Council, Amb. Seyi Bamigbade said this is one of the empowerment efforts being put in place by the support groups to demonstrate the commitment of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to invest heavily in the Nigerian youths.
He expressed optimism that if elected the next president of the country, the APC presidential candidate will eliminate economic barriers against Nigeria’s young population with regards to accessing quality education.
Amb. Bamigbade said at least 10,000 beneficiaries have in the last two months emerged from the scholarship in different parts of Nigeria which this second phase was intentionally planned to take place in Osun, targeting students from various parts of the country.
He said, “We found it necessary to think outside the box to come up with programmes that will not only proffer solutions during the campaign but also after the campaign period.
“That was why we decided to come with this scholarship programme which is also part of the progressive motives of our principal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in making eduction accessible and affordable for Nigerian youths under his leadership.
“It is really a great joy for us to see smiles in the faces of the beneficiaries and their parent”.
He added that the scholarship programme as a means to assist Nigeria youths into higher institution and also promote the progressive agenda and campaign of APC.
