The APC Professionals Council, APC PC has hailed the judgement of the Osun state election petition tribunal which voided the election of Sen. Ademola Adeleke as governor of Osun state in the July 16 poll and ordered INEC to issue certificate of return to Gboyega Oyetola.
The tribunal in its majority judgement on Friday posited that there was over-voting in six polling units which fraudulently gave Adeleke victory.
Reacting to the judgement in a statement on Friday, the National Director General of APC Professionals Council, Amb. Seyi Bamigbade said the tribunal by the judgement has demonstrated that the judiciary remains the last hope of the common man.
According to Bamigbade, the judgment is democracy at play, triumph of rule of law and democratic tenets over impunity and high-handedness.
He said, “The election petition tribunal judgment is a clear indication that every lie and deceit has an expiry date. It is a clear demonstration of the popularity of APC and reaffirmation of the people’s confidence in our great party.
“Come Feb. 25, the generality of Nigerians, not just Osun people will also show their belief and confidence in our party by voting massively for the presidential candidate of our great party, the APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
“It will be an opportunity to build on the legacy of the President Muhammadu Buhari government and foster a culture of continuity”, he said.
Bamigbade while congratulating Oyetola for the victory appealed to supporters of the party not to lower their guards in massively mobilizing support for the party’s candidates across board ahead the the elections.
