The APC Frontiers Forum, a movement of selected founding executive members of the party and important stakeholders in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency have asked the APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Alh. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka to join the contest for the next gubernatorial election in the state. The group says their demand is anchored on the record of service, sponsorship of party activities and developmental capacity of Alh Musitala which they describe as second to none in the state.
The group’s coordinator for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Alh.(Hon) Lakiu Abdullahi made the statement while addressing newsmen in Lokoja after a crucial meeting of the Forum. He said that since the inception of the Buhari led administration, no one has invested in the people, party and charity like Alh Muritala, he says the kind and philanthropic disposition and character of Alh Muritala have made him so popular, acceptable and loved across the three senatorial district.
Hon Lakiu says if Alh Muritala joins the race, it will make APC more popular in the state and brighten the chances of the party at general election. The group says their call for him to join the race is one that will bring about continuity of the performance of Alh Yahaya Bello. He described Alh Muritala as a loyal party man, distinguished Igala son and loved at home, a humanitarian per excellence, a very agile, cerebral and experienced young man who is well endowed with what it takes to make the state great.
The group says the past in the state must be strategic in the choice of the next gubernatorial election, that the need to pick a candidate that has ability and capacity to unite the stakeholders and members alike, a candidate with the requisite experience, a candidate with right demeanor and progressive ideology, and according to them, Alh Muritala Yakubu fits into the description.
The group therefore ask him to declare to run for the number one position in the state, saying that it is time for him to take mantle of leadership in the state
