Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has commended the APC Professional Women Council in its efforts to mobilising grassroot support for the party in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, saying it is a demonstration of firm belief in the ideals of All Progressives Congress.
He also noted that the council has been at the forefront in embarking on developmental projects that has benefitted women across the country and Nigerians at large.
The governor stated these while receiving members of the council in his office in Abeokuta on Friday.
The council members were in the governor’s office to pay him a courtesy visit and notify him of the Tidy Up Towns Campaign For Tinubu-Shettima which took place in the stateand across the 36 states of the federation and FCT on Friday.
Represented by Secretary to the State Government, Olatokunbo Joseph Talabi, the governor said the APC Professional Women Council has consistently demonstrated royalty to the party through its massive mobilisation drive in the grassroot as well as selflessness in delivering impactful services to communities across Nigeria.
He congratulated the Council for the Tidy Up Towns Campaign For Tinubu-Shettima initiative which he said will further enhance a cleaner environment for the overall health of Nigerians.
The governor while commending the zeal which the council has demonstrated in driving the party’s presidential campaign pledged the support of his office in making the council’s job even more easier.
Leader of the delegation and the National Coordinator of APC Professional Women Council, Ronke Soyombo thanked the governor for the warm reception accorded the council members.
She said the council had embarked on the sanitation exercise which falls in line with the vision of the presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of ensuring a clean and healthy environment for all.
According to Soyombo members of the council across the country took part in the exercise as a way of offering support to communities to live a healthy lifestyle and increase their productivity especially as the campaign to eradicate malaria through a clean environment gains momentum.
Amb. Seyi Bamigbade, the National Director General of the Council in his remarks commended the governor for redefining leadership in the state by embarking of transformational projects which has changed the face of infrastructure in the Ogun.
He said Gov. Abiodun is one of the best governors APC has produced who has tenaciously kept a covenant with the people with his outstanding leadership drive.
