In an effort to alleviate the sufferings of victims of flooding in Bayelsa State, the women wing of APC Professionals Council has distributed cash and relief items to affected communities.
This comes as the national leadership of the Council, headed by Hon. Seyi Bamigbade assures that the council will continue to put humanity first in all its programmes and agenda.
At the distribution of the cash and items recently facilitated by the National Coordinator of women wing of APC Professionals Council, Mrs Ronke Soyombo, the benefitting communities could not hold their joy as they prayed for the council and its entire leadership.
Recall that some states in Nigeria have come under sever flooding as a result of torrential rainfall and alleged opening of Lagdo dam by Cameroonian authorities, a situation that has displaced several thousands of persons in Bayelsa, Delta, Anambra, Kogi, Oyo, Adamawa and others.
Touched by the plight of the citizens in Bayelsa, the APC Professionals Council through its women wing reached an agreement to mobilize support and relief for them by sending them succour at their period of challenge.
The distribution team was led by the Bayelsa state Coordinator of the women wing of APC Professionals Council, Pastor Esther Saiyou Martins.
She was supported by her exco and members of the state chapter of APC Professionals Council during the distribution of cash and relief materials.
Esther Saiyou Martins expressed gratitude to the National Director General of the council, Hon. Seyi Bamigbade and the National Coordinator of the women wing, Hon Mrs Ronke Soyombo for their show of support and urged other well-meaning organisations and individuals to join in providing succour to the flood victims nationwide.
She also praised the efforts being put in place by the APC-led federal government to ensure that flooding in Nigeria is permanently addressed while the victims are properly catered for.
