President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday inaugurated the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Banquet Hall of the presidential villa in Abuja with a charge on members to work assiduously to secure victory for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima and all other candidates of APC in next year’s election.
Among those inaugurated include the National Director General of APC Professionals Council, Hon. Seyi Bamigbade who also doubles as member Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Ronke Soyombo the Coordinator Women Wing of APC Professionals Council and other eminent Nigerians.
Numerous state coordinators and other members of the professionals council also made it to the list of the presidential campaign council.
Both Hon. Bamigbade and Mrs. Soyombo a Special Adviser on Education to Ogun State governor are expected to bring their wealth of expertise in grass-root mobilization in giving the support base of the party a boost.
At the inauguration which had a large turn out of the members, the APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, in his welcome address said with the formal inauguration of the PCC, the party was set to crush all opposition on the way to its victory during the election next year.
President Muhammadu Buhari assured that he will be at the forefront in campaigning for the emergence of Tinubu as the country’s next president.
At the event which signals the formal launch of the party’s campaign season, the Presidential Candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima will unveil their Action Plan for the transformation of the country.
The 80-page document, containing a multi-sectoral policy options, is tagged “Renewed Hope 2023 – Action Plan for a Better Nigeria.”
According to the document, the former Lagos State governor will prioritise National Security, Economy, Agriculture, Power, Oil and Gas, Transportation and Education, when elected as President Buhari’s successor next February.
Tinubu also outlines policy options for Healthcare, Digital Economy, Women Empowerment, Judicial Reform, Federalism/Decentralisation of Power and Foreign Policy.
He promises huge investment in Sports Entertainment and Culture, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, to expand jobs and opportunities for millions of Nigerian youths.
Tinubu also promises to continue and expand the massive Social Investment Programs of the Buhari administration.
In his foreword to the document, Tinubu says that his plans were conceived after travelling the length and breadth of the country and listening to people from different life strata.
Addressing newsmen briefly after the inauguration, Hon. Bamigbade while thanking the leadership of the party for finding him worthy of membership of the council said the inauguration will signal the beginning of overwhelming success of APC in the 2023 general elections across board.
