The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has revealed how the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi rescued him from thd Department of State Services (DSS) detention.
Amaechi had visited the state on Sunday to seek the support of delegates of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the presidential primary of the party.
The Kaduna State Governor narrated how Amaechi drove him to the office of the DSS and ensured that he was released on the same day.
El-Rufai in his statement said, “One time the SSS wanted to arrest me, that I wrote something.
“Governor Amaechi called and said I will take you there and I will not leave until they let you go, what did you do?
“He took me there in his car and stayed there until they let me go. Till tomorrow, my wife will never forget that. Amaechi is her favourite Nigerian.”
Amaechi would be hoping to clinch the presidential ticket of the ruling party ahead of the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and others.
