As the Muslim Ummah worldwide celebrates the Eid-il-Fitri in commemoration of the end of the Ramadan fasting for the year 2022.
The President of the Students’ Union Government of the University of Uyo, Mr. Wisdom Emmanuel did the unthinkable by paying a courtesy visit to the Muslim Students in a showing of love, unity, and togetherness to celebrate the Eid with them at the Mosque premises situated inside the school.
The SUG team was received by the leadership of the MSSN and the Muslim Community who were staff of the University.
In his remark, the SUG President, Wisdom Emmanuel says:
“Today, I led Students and members of the Union to the Central mosque at the University of Uyo community to join in the celebration of our Muslim students who are marking their Eil-el-Mubarak celebration.
“This gesture, being the first of its kind in the history of the Students’ Union was of great importance as a means of breaking the religious biases that exist amongst the student community and also celebrating with our brethren who embarked on a spiritual exercise for the betterment of our nation and existence.
“May Allah open the doors of happiness and prosperity and bless our nation. Eil-el-Mubarak.”
Also in their appreciation, the Amir of the Muslim Students body also expressed the deepest appreciation to Mr. Wisdom Emmanuel and his team for their show of love and concern.
The Amir further thanked the team and also seized the opportunity to intimate the SUG of some challenges they were facing hoping that the visitation of the SUG executives would bring rapid solutions for them.
In response, Mr. Wisdom Emmanuel promised to make good of his office and pledged to channel their requests to the relevant body with follow-up to ensure positive results.
