The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Abuja Chapter, in a press statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Adam Ogomugo Margo and Secretary General, Churchill O. Amiekumo has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, the immediate past Bayelsa State Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, and the general public to ignore a purported protest carried out by about 15 hired street urchins who hang around the PDP Secretariat in Abuja by some unscrupulous and faceless blackmailing individuals.
The statement noted that these protesting individuals who should be mobilizing for any preferred candidates of their choice for elections in Bayelsa State should not insult the sensibilities of Bayelsans, Ijaws and Nigerians in Abuja.
It said further that they have no valid motive for such a protest adding that the group was merely paid to blackmail the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and the former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.
However, the statement stressed that the general public, the PDP, Governor Douye Diri, Senator Seriake Dickson and the good people of Bayelsa State are advised to ignore such mischief makers.
