It was a night of glitz and glamour on Tuesday in Abuja as outstanding public servants as well as members of the private sector who have distinguished themselves in excellent service delivery to the masses were honoured with awards of recognition.
This according to the management of Stardom Global Television, SGtv organisers of the event is geared towards encouraging awardees to do more in making the country a more peaceful and egalitarian society through people-oriented administration in their various sectors.
Among those who won big at the award event which took place Abuja Sheraton Hotel and Towers include the Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD, Dr. Chioma Ejikeme who emerged as the Executive Secretary of the Year, the Executive Secretary National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Mohammed Nasir Sambo who emerged as the Doyen of Health of the Year, the Chairman Ijaw South Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and the Financial Secretary ALGON, Chief. Hon. Kia Ebidoughebofa who emerged the overall best local government chairman in Nigeria and Oloffa of Offa, Oba Muftau Oloyede Gbadamosi who emerged Royal Father of the Year.
Others who won include, Mrs. Folashade Joseph, MD NAIC as Managing Director of the Year, Chairman NDLEA, Brig. Gen Buba Marwa as Public Servant of the Year, Prof Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, VC UniAbuja as Vice Chancellor of the Year, Dr Engr Jimoh Abdulahi, Rector Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin as Rector of the Year, Ochacho Homes Ltd as Real Estate Company of the Year among others.
Earlier in her remarks, the General Manager SGtv, Tolulope Hinmikaiye said the award which was its second edition is geared towards spurring the awardees and also engender the spirit of performance among other public service holders as well as those in the private sector.
Also, Chairman Emeritus of SGtv and Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Labour and Civic Engagement, Bode John Adeyemi said the selection process in the award was transparent and open which further brought the awardees to public notice.
According Mr. Adeyemi, the voting process allowed Nigerians to own the entire process without interference from SGtv management.
The evercise which lasted for four weeks produced over 61,000 online voters.
