Member representing Ushongo State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Abbas Akoso, has raised security concerns after failed kidnap attempts on his wife, Mrs Rita Akoso.
Mrs Akoso, a humanitarian and fashion designer, was accosted by suspected thugs on her way from Mbaayam, Agir Council Ward in Lessel, Ushongo Local Government Area on January 5, 2021 where she went to visit women in her community.
The lawmaker who has been faced with much security ordeals in the past, recalled that his wife was kidnapped sometimes in 2020. He went on to assure his good people of Ushongo that no ordeal will make him stop the good works he is doing and intends to do.
The armed thugs who had drove close to her car, and blocked her, were however unable to conclude their motive as her driver drove fast enough to evade them.
While the family believes that political opponents of the lawmaker are behind his ordeal, Benue State has been faced with its own share of insecurity which is synonymous with almost every part of the country.
