NBA Bwari honours the Chief Judge FCT High Court Justice Bello as he retires

NBA Bwari Branch has identified with the laudable achievements of Hon. Justice Isiaq Usman Bello, the Chief Judge of High Court of FCT, particularly in the area of justice administration in the FCT and in Nigeria.

The Chairman of NBA Bwari branch noted this in the preliminary pages of the Capital Bar Law Journal published in his honour tagged ” The Publisher’s Random Thought. It was reiterated that the Chief Judge deserves this honour for his invaluable contribution towards the enactment and implementation of Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJMC) 2015.

The Chairman of the branch who is also a member of Administration of Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJM) of which the retiring CJ was the Chairman thought it fit to honour the Chairman of ACJMC who had done remarkable well towards successful implementation of ACJA 2015.

The journal is a special edition designated to honour the Chief Judge and the edition attracted notable contributors from legal practice, bar and bench.

Topical intellectual discourses from public interests litigations, commercial interests judicial approaches, making case for state police and structural security reforms in Nigetia, electoral reforms, mediation and arbitration practice, appraisal of ACJA 2015 within the template of confessional statement, the list is interminable. Eminent scholars and practioners like JK Gadzama SAN, Professor Ernest Ojukwu, SAN, Hon. Femi Odeahan, presiding judge Customary Court of Appeal, Eleachi Agada, former NBA Abuja, unity Bar among others did make invaluable contributions.

The journal also captured an indepth view of corruption fight in Nigeria in an exclusive interview granted by Prof Femi Odekunle, a member of Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption (PACAC) and eminent professor of criminology who related his experience as member of PACAC and challenges he observed in the anti- corrption crusade in Nigeria with a profound ideological and revolutionary approaches as his personal recommendations towards nipping the corruption in the bud.

Apart from the Biograph of the Chief Judge highlighting his notable inputs in the justice administration, the journal reproduced his work on Stare Decis at the concluding pages of the journal.

The climax of NBA Bwari Branch presentation is the special award as a mark of appreciation to the Chief Judge of FCT for his invaluable support to the bar and the justice administration.
