His Lordship, Hon. Justice Nelson Ogbunaya of the Portharcourt Judicial Division of the National Industrial Court has been nominated by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation NDIC to deliver a paper at this year (2020) NDIC Annual Sensitization Seminar for Federal High Court judges on Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020.
As part of NDIC policy of promoting public awareness of deposit insurance among key stakeholders, the agency has scheduled a Sensitization Seminar for Friday 18th December 2020 to assist in capacity development of their Lordships in the much-needed areas of banking supervision/Regulation and Deposit Insurance law and practice.
The NDIC -Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation is an independent agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria for the purpose of the deposit insurance system to protect depositors and guarantee the settlement of insured funds when a deposit-taking financial institution can no longer repay their deposits, thereby helping to maintain financial system stability.
His Lordship was selected as a speaker sequel to his background and expertise on corporate law practice as a former Senior Lecturer and Head of department, corporate law practice, Nigerian law school and author of Essentials of Corporate Law Practice in Nigeria, leading textbook on that area of law.
