The Nigeria Police Force has appointed CSP Olabisi Okuwobi as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).
Her appointment was disclosed to journalists by the Chairman, Board of Trustees, NPTF, IGP Suleiman Abba (retd.) in Abuja.
As the PRO of the Fund, CSP Okuwobi will develop and manage the Public Relations affairs of the Fund, create public awareness about NPTF’s mission, vision, functions, and services; manage her media relations and build sustainable relationships with the public on behalf of the Trust Fund.
Until her appointment, the English and Peace and Conflict Studies graduate, who currently runs a Ph.D. programme in the Diaspora and Transnational Studies at the University of Ibadan, was the Divisional Police Officer of the Ejigbo Police Division, Lagos.
CSP Okuwobi has served with merit in several Police Commands including: Delta, Benue, Oyo, and Lagos States.
She has also served as the PRO of the Nigeria Police Cooperative and Multipurpose Society Limited, Lagos, and distinguishing herself during her tenure.
CSP Okuwobi has also served as a Public Information Officer (PIO) to the United Nations Police (UNPOL) under the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). During this time, she successfully reconciled local expertise with outstanding international policing exposure, emerging at the end of her service with an award of commendation from the United Nations.
The spokesperson, who has two decades of accumulated relevant exposure gained within and outside Nigeria, is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executive, National Association of Black Law Executives, International Association of Women Police, and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
Expectation is that she would explore her professionalism to attract robust development projects, donations, and interventions for the Fund and the Force.
