An indigenous inventor, Egnr. Taiye Oladapo Fashoro, is the CEO of FireTRAC technologies who manufactured ‘first of its kind’ biros & pencils hand sanitizer to help curb the spread of Covid-19 for all within and outside Nigeria. Equity News reports.
Introduction of the first of its kind hand sanitizer biros and pencils and what brought about the prompting.
It is the very first invention of its kind proudly Nigerian made. A must for everyone person as long as you read and write, the beautiful thing about the invention is that it doesn’t spell out to a particular group if persons because everyone can use it and it is very important in this very season the world is struggling and putting more effort to wipeout the pandemic that put the world to a standstill at a point. Most of the time I emphasize particularly for our school students because they are tender and in need of guidance to take precautions, which is the crucial reason that prompted this invention to begin. As parents or guardians, you know that we aren’t 100% present with them and they could in their ignorant stage go about doing or handling things that may be detrimental to them and we know that whatever affects them affects more.
This is why I say it is a must for every pupil or student in Nigerian schools especially now that things are gradually falling in place and schools have resumed in order to prevent the spread of COVID19 in Nigerian schools, offices and business places.
This invention is a FireTRAC technology, a registered Nigeria Research and Development firm with the positive disposition to advance the course of technology in overcoming various challenges of our contemporary times in Nigeria and beyond. It is a known fact that the world is passing through a delicate period as regards the spread of COVID19, which has left an indelible print on the sand of time and the effect may not be easily forgotten by the human race.
In contribution of our company’s efforts in overcoming the challenges imposed by COVID19 in Nigeria through hard work and employment of indigenous technologies of 90% local contents, we have recorded successful breakthroughs in the invention of the biro and pencil size hands sanitizer. A proudly Nigerian technological innovation which is capable of reducing or controlling the spread of the COVID19 in the classrooms and the entire school environment in all schools. Now that the lockdown has finally come to an end, pupils and students will continue their daily educational routine without any disruption.
Brief description of the biro and pencil hands sanitizer
The innovative technology is an embodiment of the popular or usual biro and pencil size and shape. It contains 5-6ml of gel sanitizer which is quite comfortable to be used in a day or two.
The gel sanitizer is poured into a PVC transparent compartment of the device. The top cover of the pencil and biro size hands sanitizer can be twisted open and close for replacement of used sanitizer gel.
Sincerely, the use of the biro and pencil is very important to the modern educational system, as pupils and students cannot do without it. It is therefore an object of intervention of this proudly Nigerian technology to incorporate the hands sanitizer into the biro and pencil functionality.
Therefore bringing every school child in close contact with hand sanitization. Hence the biro and pencil hands sanitizer size technology will serve the purpose of quick reminder, and encourages pupils and students to sanitizer their hands at regular intervals in order to overcome the chances of contacting covid19.
It is noteworthy to know that this first of its kind innovative technology is protected and endorsed with the patent right and design certificate of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Trade Industry and Investment. This implies that no individual or company can copy or produce and reproduce the invention without the authority of the invention. As such action is liabe to prosecute.
As we are processing the procurement of the SON mancarp certificate of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria for the technology (copy of application letter attached.
We also proposed to supply biros and pencils size hands sanitizer to the minister of education.
It is very evident that the country does not have sufficient health and safety facilities on ground to combat huge spread and treatment of covid-19 cases, therefore there is the need for serious consciousness efforts to bend the curves and control the spread of the dreaded covid-19 in every school in Nigeria.
I believe the procurement and distribution of the biro and pencil size hand sanitizer will enable organisations, schools, companies etc attain the feats of saving the lives of school pupils and students in Nigeria from the danger of covid-19 having in mind the crowdy nature of the school environments especially that of the public schools. “Although we know the importance of education, we all know that life is more important and very precious.” Therefore, the use of this lives savings, effective and affordable proudly Nigerian inventions will definitely reduce/control the risk of spreading and contracting covid-19 in every schools in Nigeria

No collaboration, PTF says no money to fund, and I need funding
In terms of collaboration so far, there hasn’t been any to the best of my knowledge. Presenting it to the ministry of education, the Minister loved it and wish to support the invention by purchasing it for all students in Nigeria but to no avail because according to him that when he went to the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID19, that said there wasn’t any money to support but a letter permitting to go to all secondary schools in the country to introduce my invention to them and I on the other hand is in desperate need of funds to bring this dream to limelight. The most patronage I get is that of individual demand which is capital intensive compared to when you produce a lot.
